"The Maastricht Study (DMS) allows researchers access to DMS data to encourage publications of high quality papers and presentations.
Before access to the data is provided, all research should be carefully read and must adhere to the DMS Data Guidelines(1) and DMS Publication Guidelines(2). Thereafter, a research proposal must be developed following the proposal format(3). All proposals must then be submitted to DMS at research.dms@mumc.nl for approval. The DMS Management Team (MT) will as quickly as possible review the proposal and the comments will be sent to you by email. Once a proposal has been approved, the data can be provided.
A manuscript or abstract that has been prepared for submission to a journal or congress must be approved by the MT before submission is allowed. The manuscript/abstract and the completed Manuscript/Abstract Proposal Form(4) must be submitted to DMS at research.dms@mumc.nl for approval together with the syntax/code that was used for the data analysis. The MT will as quickly as possible review the proposal and the comments will be sent to you by email. Once a proposal has been approved, the manuscript/abstract can be submitted.
All forms for application can be found below. The documents can be requested in MS Word format via research.dms@mumc.nl.

External researchers (those without an MUMC affiliation) can only submit a research proposal in cooperation with a member of the Maastricht Study Management Team and/or Maastricht Study Participating researchers*.
